Deoxys, the DNA Pokemon, acts a bit differently than other Pokemon. While its IVs, EVs, gender, and other values remain, certain things change when traded between versions, most notably the appearance and base stats. In, addition each form has a different moveset, but because you can trade freely between versions you can create your own unique moveset using any of the forms avaliable moves.
In the third generation, the different forms were split into the various games. The Normal Form would appear in Pokemon Ruby, Pokemon Sapphire/ Pokemon Colosseum, and Pokemon XD. Attack Deoxys would appear in Pokemon FireRed and Defense Deoxys could be obtained in Pokemon LeafGreen. Finally, Speed Form only appears in Pokemon Emerald. In the Fourth generation you have the option of changing the form of your Deoxys in the same game card. This is done by touching certain metorites in Veilstone City with Deoxys in your party. The top one gives you Speed Deoxys, the middle one gives you Normal Deoxys, the bottom left gives you Attack Deoxys, and the bottom right gives you Defense Deoxys.
