Breeding an egg is a common way for trainers to receive a Pokemon with a specific move or ability. Below are the ways to breed and information given in that field.
Need:
Many people breed by using a Ditto and a Parent Pokemon that will produce its 1st Stage in their evolution chain. This is the easiest and most common way to breed for trainers. However, this process does not allow the trainer to 'choose' which starting moves the offspring will have, just a quick and easy way to get an egg.
Need:
*Both need to be from the same evolution line
Another form of breeding trainers like to use is usually known as the 'Basic Pairing'. This is where the trainer takes two opposite genders of two of the same Pok?mon, or two Pok?mon who are in the same evolution chain, and breeds them together to create an egg.
A slightly better form of breeding compared to the 'Ditto Attraction', this method can ensure that you have total control of the offspring's Ability. When using the 'Basic Pairing' form of breeding, the two Parents must be the same Pokemon -or- two Pokemon who are in the same evolution chain. During the process of the breeding, the Ability of the offspring will depend on the Mother's Ability. This means that the Egg inherits the Ability of the Female Parent.
Need:
*Both need to share one Egg Group
This can seem complex to some trainers and not to others. This method is much better than both the 'Basic Pairing' and the 'Ditto Attraction'. With this method, the Ability and the offspring's starting moves can be chosen. As said in the 'Need List', you will require two Pokemon, one Female and one Male. However, both need to chare one Egg Group that they are categorized in.
There are many contributions that both parents share. Below is what they can give to the offspring.
Mother Parent
The Mother Parent will pass along their:
Father Parent
The Father Parent will greatly affect the starting moveset of the offspring. He can give:
*Offspring branches from Mother's line of evolution
A Father Parent and a Mother Parent
Both can contribute to their offspring's starting moves. This can happen when:
