Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Teams

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Team is an interesting duo of a game. One game, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team, is for the GBA and the other, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team, is for the DS. The game was released in Japan on November 2005 and in North American on September 2006.

Game Information

What if you were to wake up one day and found out you were turned into a Pokemon? Well in this game that is exactly what happens!

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue team are a spin-off title of Pokemon. All the dungeons within the game are always re-arranging. So exploring a dungeon never gets old. Along with that, there are also tons of items that are not usually part Pokemon game play. Moves have also been tweaked a little to make the game more interesting. Along with power and accuracy, now comes a range.

IQ and IQ skills are also another addition to the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game. It allows Pokemon to learn certain skills, making them more useful in dungeons while exploring and on missions. To increase IQ you must feed your team members food items called gummis. There are a total of 17 different type of Gummis, one for each type of Pokemon. The more a Pokemon likes a Gummi, the more IQ they will receive. A stat boost may be received when feeding members gummis while in their friend areas. All the Pokemon learn the same IQ skills within this game. Some Pokemon can learn certain moves only when at a certain IQ level.

Each version has its own exclusives, just like in the regular Pokemon game series. Only certain Pokemon are found in each version. Although now we have found Wonder Mail codes breaking down those exclusive walls as I like to call them.

The two games can communicate via the DS dual slot. The two versions can trade items, Pokemon, wonder mail missions and so on. The lack of the Wi-fi feature is probably something that hurt this game is sales and popularity. To make up for that lack of Wi-Fi features though, the game has something called SOS Codes which will allow you to get help or go rescue anyone around world.
